Eric Mboma

Eric is an international Board Director, Chief Executive and institution builder with more than 25 years across banking, insurance, development finance, natural resources, infrastructure, technology and public-sector transformation. His career spans Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East and combines P&L leadership, governance, capital allocation, M&A, regulatory architecture and sovereign engagement.

His experience covers more than 40 African markets, 150+ financial institutions, approximately US$3 billion in SME and green-finance mobilization, more than US$1.2 billion in structured banking transactions and over 75 acquisitions, divestments and strategic-investment opportunities.

Eric is currently Chief Executive for Africa at Embed Financial Group Holdings, leading initiatives in sovereign digital transformation, payments, insurance and data infrastructure. He also serves as an IFC Nominee Director and as an Independent Director of EquityBCDC, with responsibilities spanning ethics and compliance, credit, governance, risk culture and regulatory engagement.

Previously, he served as Regional Chief Executive for MENA and Chief External Affairs Officer for Africa at Prudential plc; Group Executive Director of African Guarantee Fund;

founding President and Managing Director of the DRC Insurance Regulatory Authority, ARCA; and Chief Executive, Managing Director and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking of Standard Bank DRC.

His earlier career at Credit Suisse Investment Banking and BHP Billiton built deep foundations in valuation, leveraged finance, M&A, critical minerals and infrastructure. His work included a US$560 million mining acquisition, a US$150 million rail initiative and more than 75 acquisitions, divestments and strategic-investment opportunities.
