Wong Chow Ming
A stellar career diplomat, Wong Chow Ming was most recently Singapore’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar from 2023 to 2024. He was also Singapore’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, from 2019 to 2023. He previously served as Singapore’s Deputy High Commissioner to India from 2008 to 2011, as well as other assignments in the Singapore Embassies in Jakarta and Bangkok. His reach is global.
At the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chow Ming was Director-General of the International Economics Directorate from 2012 to 2019. He held leadership positions as Director (Special Duties), Senior Deputy Director in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Directorate and Senior Assistant Director in the Policy Planning and Analysis I Directorate in his earlier years with the Ministry.
Chow Ming has represented Singapore at the highest levels on trade, finance, development and political and security issues at various international arenas including the G-20, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation meetings, International Seabed Authority, International Renewable Energy Agency and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). As a key representative for Singapore at ASEAN, the premier regional organisation in Southeast Asia, he was actively involved in high level discussions including in the 2008 ASEAN Summit in Singapore.
