‘Students, do not fast, you are not Gandhi’

EDUCATION and Culture Minister Wiranto Arismunandar has asked Indonesian university students not to emulate the late Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi, who advocated hunger strikes to fight colonial oppression.

Dr Wiranto said: “Hunger strikes make you hungry. This is not acceptable because it is detrimental to your health.”
